Job Summary

As a Security Installation Technician, you are the face of Security ONE in our clients' homes and businesses. You'll install, program, and test integrated security systems — surveillance, access control, intrusion, and environmental devices — and ensure every client understands their system before you leave. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for someone who takes pride in clean, reliable work.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. A diploma or certificate in electronics, electrical, networking, or a related technical field is a strong asset.

Additional Educational Requirements

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard / Private Investigator licensing eligibility, or willingness to obtain.
  • Manufacturer certifications (DSC, Alarm.com, Honeywell) considered an asset; we provide ongoing training.

Experience

1–3 years of experience in low-voltage installation, security, alarm, electrical, or networking work preferred. We will train motivated candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a customer-first attitude.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable working with hand and power tools, ladders, and at heights.
  • Solid understanding of basic networking and IP devices.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, courteous manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to clean, code-compliant work.
  • Ability to manage a daily route and complete jobs on schedule.

Criminal Background Checks

A clean criminal background check is required. Because our technicians work inside clients' homes and businesses, all employees undergo thorough background screening as a condition of employment.

Physical Demands

This role involves frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing ladders, working in attics and crawl spaces, and extended periods of standing and kneeling. A valid Ontario driver's licence and clean driving record are required.
